Spec — advjs.asim.dev landing

2026-refresh › advjs-landing · feature · created 2026-08-05 · spec · plan.html

One page at advjs.asim.dev: the course's home off Udemy — every resource in one pointable place, styled from the design tokens, with the trail to Asim's world (YouTube first) at the bottom. This supersedes the parked js.asim.dev console idea: no interactivity, just the definitive link.

Problem

P1The course has no home Asim controls — every pointer goes through Udemy's walls.
Resources, updates, "where's the code" — all currently answerable only inside Udemy's player. Asim can't put one URL in a video, a talk, or a bio and have it mean "the course".
P2Students never find Asim's world — the course ends and the relationship ends with it.
The old @jawache marks pointed nowhere current. YouTube is the funnel that matters (Asim's call), with the rest of his links beside it.

Solution at a glance

J0One static page, tokens-styled, resources-first. The course's sections with their workshop files and resources, any updates worth announcing, and a footer that is the trail: YouTube prominently, then the rest. It doubles as the non-Udemy landing page for the course and is the URL the on-screen mark points at (the design-system's mark decision).

Job stories

J1 · When someone lands

J1.1Every course resource is one click away — workshop files and per-section materials, no Udemy login needed
The workshop .md files (already student-facing artefacts) published per section; whatever else the course references lives or links here.
j1-2The page sells the course to outsiders — someone sent the link understands what the course is and where to enrol
A light landing-page top (positioning, curriculum shape, the Udemy link) above the resources — not a marketing site, one honest screen.
J1.3The trail to Asim is unmissable — YouTube first, socials beside, at the bottom of every visit
Asim: "YouTube probably is the main thing." Within Udemy's policies for anything linked from inside the course.

Constraints

Deferred to plan

Hosting and deploy route
Why it must wait: depends how asim.dev itself is hosted (subdomain setup, static host, build step) — explored at plan time.

Decisions

Landing page over interactive console
Asim: publishing the console is "a fairly weak thing"; the landing page is the durable, simple version of pointing students somewhere he owns.
YouTube is the primary funnel target
Asim's call, August 2026.

Estimated files / edits

Size: S — one static site, likely in courses/adv-js/site/ or built from the workshop folder.
